It looks like that GeoCities is closing it’s doors. [I didn't even know they were still around!]
To those who remembers GeoCities back in the day, they provided free website hosting. All of the sites that were hosted by GeoCities were organized by “neighborhoods” depending on what the site niche was about.
Geez, I remember hosting some videogame site back in the day. Ahh the memories… what’s interesting is that GeoCities pretty much setup what we call Blogs nowadays.
They apparently were bought out by Yahoo! and long story short, Yahoo! ran the service into the ground by changing the entire GeoCities environment by adding premium services and getting rid of the “community”. Since the economy has been directing a lot of financial hurt as of late, I’m sure Yahoo! would like to stop the bleeding by closing this service up.
Here’s more information regarding the GeoCities closure: http://bit.ly/geocitiesclosed
Look at it! I haven’t touched this site since August! WOW!
I don’t know how the hardcore bloggers do it, but they do.
What’s interesting is that I have probably like 5-6 articles that I’ve written, but haven’t finished up since August. I need to make an effort to finish those up, although some articles may not be news now. Nevertheless, I’m still here, the blog’s still alive and I’ve been grinding at making things happen for me on the Affiliate Marketing side.
It really is tough to juggle a normal career, business, and all that. I tried to make the effort to get this blog going, but i’m not trying hard enough it seems. I’ll just keep going at it as much as I can doing weekly posts and if things get better, then I’ll post more.
Other than that, I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and here’s to 2009!
I’m in search this morning for a different kind of coffee. Unfortunately, not a lot of places that have coffee are open at 5:30am. Starbucks is open at 5:30, but their coffee is pricey and I’m already getting tired of the same thing.
I drive around the area and scout for a coffee shop or anything open in that matter and I come across 7-Eleven. I know 7-Eleven has coffee and noticed that they have Iced Coffee now as well. I thought to myself, “Hell, why not give it a shot”. It’s about a little over 2 bucks for a 20 oz cup.
Very disappointed in the taste.. very nasty on initial taste and the after taste is horrible. Then again, this is what I expected from a 7-Eleven. Hopefully, they’ll find some way to improve the taste. It’s terrible! Who does the taste test on these things anyway?
Next up, McDonald’s Iced Coffee. Rumor has it that their Iced Coffee is pretty good and is in the same price range as well.

But there’s a catch….
THERE’S ALWAYS A CATCH.
As quoted on The Cheesecake Factory’s site:
…featuring all cheesecakes at $1.50 per slice, limit ONE per guest, dine in only…
Bummer. They could’ve at least gone with a 2-5 slice limit. Geez. I feel ripped off for wasting my breath and time reading about this. I can’t help it, I like to eat! A 2 slice limit @ $1.50 would’ve been better.
Gotta love the fine print!
I was shopping at Target a couple weeks ago and bought a ton of stuff for the apartment I recently moved into. As I was leaving Target, I had one of those feelings where I was forgetting something. About 10 minutes into my drive I realized that I had forgot the box set of cookware underneath the cart!
CRAP!
I’m sitting in my car trying to get through traffic to get my ass back to Target. Once I arrive in the parking lot and explore the area, my new cookware was gone. Great. I walk inside Target and hoped that a Good Samaritan had dropped it off at the Lost and Found. Unfortunately it didn’t turn up there either. All hope was lost at this point and the cashier pulls a manager to help me.
I’m waiting for the manager thinking doing the whole “I’m sorry…” speech, but the manager approaches me and I before I can finish explaining my case, she tells me to grab another set. As I’m leaving, I find her and ask if I need to check it out or show it to a cashier. She advises me to be careful next time and I go home and enjoy my cookware.
Karma comes in different forms and sizes. Either good or bad.
When it comes to money or pretty much anything in this world, they are all materialistic objects. When you pass away and leave this world they don’t come along with you. When you give your time and efforts to the community, it’s a great feeling! You work hard at it and humble yourself. Sooner or later, your positive karma grows and the positivity in your life becomes more abundant.
What have YOU done today?
And as they say…
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I spent my holiday weekend back in my hometown of Chicago for my buddy’s bachelor party. I’ll have a write up on budgeting your vacation soon. You can’t go on vacation without outlining your expenses, otherwise you’ll end up with nice chunk of debt. [Kinda like I did this past weekend, another lesson learned!]
One thing I forgot to take a picture of was the gas prices! Regular gas in the suburbs cost about $4.20/gal and in the city it cost about $4.35/gal! Damn California gas prices!
Anyhow, here’s a teaser picture for you guys!
I wanted to write this post as a dedication to the hardworking firefighters out there. Their lives are on the line everyday with all those crazy fires out there lately.
I experienced their courageness firsthand today as I was driving North on Hwy 17. There was a blaze on a steep grade right by the freeway at the top of the summit and I saw about 10-15 firefighters climbing up the mountain trying to get the fire out. I’m intimidated of heights for one, so you wouldn’t catch me scaling the face of the mountain especially with fire on it.
So a BIG Thank You to the thousands of firefighters who save lives everyday!
This is LAUGHS! This is what happens when you don’t pay attention. The Price Is RIGHT!.. well at least she thought it was. Check this contestant out!
Just wanted to put a post on here to make sure that this is working right. I’ve created this site with the purpose of saving money and making money through anything (by legal means of course!). This site was inspired by all my friends who came to me for advice after graduating from college asking me what the hell to do with their school loans!
Topics that will be discussed on this blog will be how to save money, invest money, and make money. I’ll also put my personal touches on this blog as I continue to build upon it so you’ll see random news on technology, sports, and just whatever will come to mind. A lot of work will be going on so please excuse the mess.
So here’s to the new blog!
Cheers!
